Apples of gold

on January 10, 2013

Like apples of gold in settings of silver, is a word spoken in right circumstances.  Proverbs 25:11

This poem was written by a friend who told me she woke with it on her heart in the middle of the night, and had to write it down. It has brought much comfort to Chris and I.

Her gentle breath was but a

whisper against our hearts

and yet we were caught off guard

as to the fierceness of our love for her…

What will we do now with

this emptiness that will be

forever hers? Adore the One to

Whom she now belongs and

know that He loves her more…

Fly on wings of eagles, sweet Ellie,

Our memories hold you dear

Your earthly time was not to be,

but, forevermore, you will be

our stairsteps into eternity…
